Registration and activities terms and conditions
Any cancellation or alteration of your registration/activities must be notified in writing by email to Bco Congresos (esci2019@bcocongresos.com). The following conditions will be applied:
Cancellations until 31 January 2019 : Refund of fees minus 25% administrative charge.
Cancellations between 1 February and 30 April 2019 : Refund of fees minus 50% administrative charge.
Cancellations after 1 May 2019 : Refunds will unfortunately no longer be possible.
All refunds will be processed after the congress.

Hotel reservation terms and conditions
Any change or cancellation of the reservation must be sent in writing by email to Bco Congresos (esci2019@bcocongresos.com). In case of cancellation, the following cancellation fees will be applied:
Before 1 April 2019 : 1 night will be kept as a cancellation fee. There will be no penalty for the reduction in the number of nights.
On or after 1 April 2019 : Refunds will unfortunately no longer be possible.
In the event of cancellation/reductions in the number of nights from 1 April 2019 or no-shows, the entire booking period will be charged.

 

Alexandre Tiedtke Quintanilha

Born in Lourenço Marques (Maputo) Mozambique.

Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (1972) Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg.  Next two decades at U.C. Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as professor of cell physiology and biophysics and director of a Center for Environmental Studies.  Moved to Biomedical Faculty, University of Porto as professor of biophysics and science Dean. Was, until 2010, director of both the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and chaired committee to form consortium of the three major biomedical institutions in Porto (i3S).  A member of several international Academies, chaired committees at ESF, EC, OECD and other national and international research organizations. Chaired the Council of Associate Laboratories of the Ministry of Science and is President of the Ethics Committee for Clinical Research in Portugal. Has published extensively and has always been involved in science policy. Current interests in mental and public health, biological stress, risk perception and public understanding of science. Since 2015, Chair of the Parliamentary Commission on Education and Science.
